When Will We See 'XO, Kitty' Season 3?
While we don't have an exact release date just yet, anticipation is building! Keep your eyes peeled for updates from Netflix – as soon as we know, you'll know.
Great News: Production Has Wrapped!
Mark your calendars (mentally, at least)! Netflix announced in July 2025 that filming for Season 3 has already finished. This means we're one step closer to rejoining Kitty and the gang in Seoul. That's right, the episodes are in the can and now in post-production, meaning it is being edited and readied for your viewing pleasure.
New Faces Joining the KISS Crew!
Get ready to welcome some fresh talent to the 'XO, Kitty' universe! Alongside the announcement of the production wrap, Netflix revealed three new cast members: Sule Thelwell ('Saint X'), Soy Kim ('Like a French Film, Sorry Not Sorry'), and Christine Hwang ('Law & Order: SVU').
Thelwell will be playing Marius, a character who might ring a bell for those who remember Q's (Anthony Keyvan) storyline. Remember Q's former roommate at KISS, the one before Kitty moved in during Season 1? Well, that's Marius! In Season 2, Q hinted at a past romance with Marius. "We did plant those seeds, and we may or may not see those seeds bloom," Keyvan tantalizingly told Deadline. Will their past spark again? We'll have to wait and see!
Kim steps into the role of Yisoo, and Hwang will portray Gigi, both of whom are sure to bring their own unique dynamics to the show.
Speaking of Anthony Keyvan, he has another Netflix project coming up! Keep an eye out for him in 'Just Picture It', where he'll be starring alongside Millie Bobby Brown.
Who's Returning to KISS?
Fear not, familiar faces will grace our screens once again! Of course, Anna Cathcart returns as our beloved Kitty. Joining her are Minyeong Choi as the charming Dae, Gia Kim as the complex Yuri, Sang Heon Lee as the swoon-worthy Min Ho, Regan Aliyah as the determined Juliana, Peter Thurnwald as the insightful Alex, Joshua Lee as the supportive Jin, Sasha Bhasin as the ambitious Praveena, Michael K. Lee as the wise Professor Lee, Philippe Lee as the observant Mr. Moon, Jocelyn Shelfo as Madison, Han Bi Ryu as Eunice, and Sunny Oh as Mihee. Plus, Hojo Shin, who plays Jiwon, has been promoted to a series regular – get ready to see more of her!
A Quick Recap: What Happened in Season 2?
Season 2 was a whirlwind of self-discovery and tangled relationships for Kitty. She delved deeper into her Korean heritage, connecting with her grandmother’s sister, a matchmaker living in Seoul. Despite trying to stay out of matchmaking herself, Kitty's attempt to date Praveena was short-lived, mainly because her feelings for Yuri bubbled to the surface. This, of course, caused quite a stir amongst her friends.
A talent competition, courtesy of Min Ho's father, gave Dae the opportunity to tour the world with Min Ho's brother. In a last-minute decision, Kitty asked Min Ho if she could join them for the summer tour. Although her initial study abroad year at KISS was over, her scholarship was renewed, allowing her to extend her stay. Q, meanwhile, secured a spot in a summer track program at USC. Yuri and Julianna's relationship ended after Kitty's old letter to Yuri, revealing their kiss, came to light. Ouch!
What's in Store for Season 3?
Plot details are still under wraps, but it's safe to assume that Season 3 will pick up during the summer. Anthony Keyvan has teased a "more mature take" from the cast, as their characters navigate their senior year of high school. "It was a little bit different this season. We’re a little bit older. We’re dealing with a little bit more mature topics, I would say," he revealed to Deadline. "We’ve got some new cast members, which is always exciting, but it’s still the same old hijinks that the KISS students are getting into all the time. It was really great to be back." So expect the same fun and drama, but with a slightly more grown-up edge.
Who's Behind the Scenes?
There's been a change in leadership! Valentina Garza has taken over as showrunner for Season 3, replacing Jessica O’Toole, who helmed Season 2. Jenny Han remains an executive producer alongside Matt Kaplan of ACE Entertainment. Awesomeness Studios continues to produce the show. This behind-the-scenes dream team is sure to bring us another season of captivating storytelling.
So, are you excited for 'XO, Kitty' Season 3? What are your predictions for Kitty's love life? Do you think Q and Marius will rekindle their romance, or is it water under the bridge?
